SCHOLARSHIP PROGRAM

The charity empowers the people of East Timor through the Scholarship program. It is allowing young women and men from marginalised backgrounds to study at university to become teachers and nurses. So far 1222 teachers and 400 nurses have graduated on our scholarships over the last 17 years.

 

MATERNAL CHILDCARE PROGRAM

We started the Maternal Childcare program as 1 in 4 women died in childbirth. Our clinic now sees 10 000 patients free of charge. The pregnant women are using the clinic which has improved the mortality statistics.

FUTURE IN YOUTH PROGRAM

Our Future in Youth program has 5000 girls and boys in 32 schools playing sport. We believe sport is educational as children learn so much about themselves and the values sport teaches them.

VETERANS TRANSITION ACU PROGRAM

Our new Australian program – the Veterans Transition program is helping Veterans and their families to enrol in a bridging program that enables them to participate in tertiary studies. Sadly more Veterans die by suicide than in theatres of war. 1600 Veterans committed suicide in the 23 years to 2020 which is more than 458 that died in Afghanistan. The ACU program provides an opportunity to start a new career and so far 120 have graduated having done the bridging course .
